With a strong start to the race and holding 2nd for most of the track’s length, Call Me Andy gave all of the favored picks a run for their money at this past Sunday’s Bashford Manor Stakes at Ellis Park. Fellow colt Go Otto Go held the lead out of the gate with The Wine Steward positioned third, and the horses completed the first quarter-mile in :22.20 and the half-mile in :45.24. At the top of the lane, The Wine Steward was still a third and positioned out wide as Go Otto Go and Call Me Andy tried to keep pace, but The Wine Steward took the lead and was able to hold it to a late bid of Wilson Q, who edged out 2nd in front of Call Me Andy.
